Monitoring of water quantity and quality parameters in Bangladesh environment is a challenge. Monitoring is important for water managers and water users to obtain better insight in the working of the environment, now and in the future (e.g. climate change). As Bangladesh is a country with very diverse environmental conditions, a dense monitoring network that is sustainable over time would certainly improve planning and design in water management. During this session, the success of current applications and implementations of low-cost monitoring devices in Bangladesh along with possible (perhaps, unique) challenges will be demonstrated and discussed.
