Description
Delft3D is a software package that describes hydrodynamics, sediment dynamics and morphodynamics on a high resolution grid. The flexible user interface enables users to develop models for dedicated case studies, for example to assess tidally varying water levels, river flow, sediment concentrations and associated morphodynamic behavior like bank erosion or shoal development. Waves and water quality modules are examples of additional Delft3D modules. The course combines a brief theoretical outline with discussion of successful case studies. Participants will be trained in developing their own, schematized morphodynamic model so that they can taste the capacity and potential of the software.
