Previous population growth and urbanization has deteriorated the environment in countries in South Asia. This affects the people living in this environment. Water quality problems express themselves as a bad smell, esthetically unpleasing, spreading of diseases. The emission model helps in understanding these issues and can determine the effectiveness of change. Based on this information policy makers can decide the best approach to a better tomorrow. In this session the Deltares D- Emission model, to be used to model pollution loads will be showcased. The D-Emission model will be linked to existing river water quality models in Bangladesh. Its application in urbanised Buenos Aires, Argentina, will be demonstrated during this session.
